Nathan Longenecker is a founding partner of Temkin Wielga Hardt & Longenecker LLP with diverse experience in commercial, environmental, natural resource and toxic tort litigation. He has significant “first chair” trial experience and has successfully represented clients in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He also represents clients in arbitrations, mediations and governmental regulatory matters. Mr. Longenecker has litigated numerous tort and breach of contract actions, class actions, environmental citizen suits, oil and gas lease disputes, trade secret disputes, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy, and lawsuits concerning the application of state and federal mining laws. He has extensive experience in preparing and defending cases involving the Clean Water Act, CERCLA, RCRA and related claims arising under state law.

In addition to representing business clients, Mr. Longenecker has represented individuals in lawsuits and arbitrations against corporations, governmental entities and large organizations. For example, he has successfully arbitrated eligibility disputes on behalf of athletes against a National Governing Body recognized by the United States Olympic Committee. He has also represented plaintiffs in civil rights cases brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.

Mr. Longenecker received his undergraduate degree from Colorado College. He received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1994 where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the San Diego Law Review. He is a member of the Bar of the Courts of Colorado and the Ninth Circuit and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and has been admitted pro hac vice in numerous courts across the United States. Prior to the formation of Temkin Wielga Hardt & Longenecker LLP in 1999, he practiced law at the Denver offices of the national firms Dorsey & Whitney LLP and Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll LLP.
